I entered the cannabis industry in 2012, driven by a belief that cannabis should not be defined by prohibition. I left behind a career in anti-money laundering investigations and moved across the country to build a career in an emerging industry.

I got my start in cultivation in Northern California, later operated a licensed medical marijuana grow in Oregon, and eventually moved into business development, managing strategic partnerships for a Y Combinator-backed horticultural LED lighting company.

As the industry evolved, so did I. I saw an opportunity to combine my firsthand industry experience with the technical expertise needed to help cannabis businesses navigate an increasingly complex financial and regulatory environment. I earned my Master’s in Taxation, became a CPA, and began specializing in cannabis tax in 2022.

Since then, I’ve worked in public accounting with cannabis businesses ranging from startups to some of the country’s largest MSOs, gaining perspective across different stages of growth, business models, and operational structures.

Today, I bring together more than a decade of cannabis industry experience and technical tax expertise to help businesses navigate complexity, understand their numbers, and build for what comes next.
